Ahoy there!
Building muscle is a common desire, so we thought we would put our top three food sources for building and retaining muscle.
For our number one choice, we have decided to go with red meat. Red meat is high in heme iron, which is the type of iron that the body can rapidly convert into energy. Red meat is also rich in high-quality protein for tissue repair. It is important to remember that red meat is generally high in fat, so if cardiovascular health is a concern then you should be mindful of this.
Our second choice is salmon. Salmon is high in protein, low in fat, and a good source of omega-3 fatty acids.
Our third choice is eggs, when you consider the vitamin content of eggs, the protein content, and the cost it's fair to say that eggs are a superfood.
If you are looking for healthy breakfast alternatives we will be releasing recipes shortly on our website.
For now, if you are looking to switch things up we suggest limiting the carbs, allowing for slightly more fat in your diet, and aiming to be as natural as possible.
We have left you with a breakfast recipe idea below;
a cube of cheese
x2 small sausages or x2 bacon rashes
a few pieces of fruit (watermelon & pineapple are a great combo)
x2 eggs
Perhaps a few almonds or walnuts, maybe even some mango
Oats are a common choice for breakfast when you are trying to enhance your eating regimen and there's no smoke without fire as the saying goes.
No doubt oats are a splendid choice, they offer a slow release of energy and are very ideal for first thing in the morning.
However, what we are trying to promote is that there are other alternatives. Fat, when eaten in the right proportions can offer you great benefits. At Joe's Remedies, we always shout about trial and error and finding what works for you.
Maybe try reducing the carbohydrates, especially the major ones which are bread and pasta. Maybe even trial cutting these out altogether, see how your body reacts, and see how you feel!
We will be back with more eating rituals and more recipes, and as always, all the best in your endeavor!
