Anxiety - the attribute you want to keep

Your anxiety levels rising when you are in certain situations or when you are learning a new skill is completely expected.

You can be both composed and anxious at the same time. What comes along with those feelings of anxiousness is a heightened sense, quicker reactions, and quicker thinking.

It's a common misconception that high anxiety levels are a bad thing and that low anxiety levels are a positive thing. When in reality it's likely the other way around.

Those critical decisions you make all start with impulses and raised anxiety levels. Raised anxiety levels are a completely normal and healthy response.

The message we want to send is that the focus should be acting on these impulses and they should be cherished. It is vital to not mask, or diminish these impulses in any way, it would be like removing the security system from your home or car!

A healthy way of looking at this is that you are learning to drive for the first time, your anxiety levels are going to rise, you are more aware, and being aware of these natural biological processes allows you to put measures and precautions in place.

Trying to act like a smooth operator may not always be the coolest move. The message we are trying to send out is that when your body's anxiety levels rise, that's your body telling you to act, and make changes, this could be as simple as getting your house sorted, going for a run, or anything to keep your mind occupied.

It would be an absolute disaster to not act on these messages, it would be a disaster to interpret high anxiety levels as a problem that can only be solved by therapy or medication.

The message we are sending out is to try and get on top of everything in your life, form deep, true connections, and become financially stable.

We are not out to criticise therapy or any other form of treatment in any way. Therapy and other treatments have tremendous effects on lives every day. The point we are making is that therapy and medication should not be a first call in many instances.

On a finishing note, at Joe's Remedies, we have a preferred term for raised anxiety, and this term is " a heightened sense"

Are you in a job interview and you have a heightened sense?

Cherish this, you want to make a good impression, you want to be quick on the ball. At what cost? A few butterflies in your stomach!

Are you in a new group setting and have a heightened sense?

Cherish this, you want to be quick to quickly assess the culture and values of the group

At Joe's Remedies, this is one term that we want to promote, and this is what we would like to leave you on going forward. Which is to embrace and value the feelings of a heightened sense!
